About this product & how to use it

One considered addition. Not another shelf full of skincare.

You want to look in the mirror and spend less time scrutinizing texture and fine lines. Choosing a retinol should not mean committing to six new bottles or another delivery before you need it.

PepNStep Retinol and Peptide Face Serum brings retinol, Hexapeptide-11 and bisabolol together in one 30 ml evening serum. Buy one bottle for $79. No subscription, automatic refills or required companion products. Reorder when you choose.

Know what you are choosing. The complete ingredient list is below and lists no added fragrance. The supplier has not disclosed the exact retinol percentage, and we do not claim a verified strength, irritation-free use or a guaranteed results timeline. If a disclosed concentration is essential to your choice, this may not be your fit.

Keep the cleanser and moisturizer that already work for you. Our complementary products are optional, sold separately, and can be considered later if you need them.

Room to decide: 90 days from delivery to request a refund, including opened or used products. No restocking fee and no need to mail skincare back. Email hello@pepnstep.com for help.

Routine role: Evening treatment step after cleansing and before moisturizer.

I’m writing this because I’m satisfied, not because I’m still excited

I’m writing this because I’m satisfied, not because I’m still excited. I meant to leave a review when the package first arrived, but I’m glad I didn’t. At that point, I mostly liked the idea of what I’d bought. Now I can say I like having it in my routine. My skin feels smoother, I’m comfortable using the serum, and I’m not already looking for something to replace it. PepNStep has become a purchase I feel settled with. That’s less dramatic than calling something life-changing, but it’s the reason I’d order it again.

I trust my own reaction to a product a little more now

I trust my own reaction to a product a little more now. Before this, I would sometimes keep using things I didn’t enjoy because everyone else seemed to love them. Then I’d question something I did like because it wasn’t the product people were currently talking about. I’m trying to stop doing that. My experience with PepNStep has been positive. I enjoy the serum, my skin feels softer, and I’m happy to keep it in my routine. I don’t need a comment section to approve that decision for me.

I don’t feel behind anymore

I don’t feel behind anymore. Skincare content had me convinced that everyone else started earlier, used better products, and understood something I didn’t. I bought retinol partly because I felt like I was late to the whole thing. I’m more relaxed now. I’ve found a routine I like, I’m pleased with the smoother feel of my skin, and I’m not trying to catch up to a stranger’s progress pictures. I just want to keep taking care of the skin I have.

This is a positive review from someone who still has normal skin

This is a positive review from someone who still has normal skin. I still get the occasional spot. I still have pores. Some mornings I look tired because I am tired. I’m mentioning that because I’ve read reviews that made me expect a product to remove every ordinary variation from my face. I’ve been happy with this serum because my skin feels smoother and I enjoy using it. That’s a genuine reason to like a skincare product. My face doesn’t have to become permanently flawless for the purchase to feel worthwhile.

I wanted to feel competent at my own routine

I wanted to feel competent at my own routine. There was a point where I knew a lot of skincare terminology but still didn’t feel confident standing at my sink. I could explain ingredients and then spend ten minutes deciding what to use. Settling into this routine has been good for me. I like the serum, I know where it fits, and my skin feels smoother. I’m less concerned with sounding knowledgeable now. I’d rather have a routine I can actually do without feeling confused.

I’m not checking for a result after every application anymore

I’m not checking for a result after every application anymore. At the beginning, I was looking in the mirror constantly, which made it hard to notice anything except that my skin looked slightly different in every room. I’ve relaxed about it. I use the serum, go about my life, and pay attention to the overall experience. My skin feels softer, and the texture looks more even to me. I’m happier evaluating it that way than treating each evening like a test the product has to pass by morning.

My sister asked what I was using, and I didn’t give her a sales pitch

My sister asked what I was using, and I didn’t give her a sales pitch. I just told her I’d been happy with this serum and that my skin felt smoother. I wasn’t about to guarantee that she would love it too, because we’ve had very different experiences with skincare before. But it was nice to have something positive to say from my own experience. I like the product, I’m using it regularly within my routine, and I would buy it again. That’s the kind of recommendation I’m comfortable giving someone I know.

I finally let a routine be good without searching for perfect

I finally let a routine be good without searching for perfect. I have a habit of questioning things even when I’m happy with them. What if there’s a better serum? What if I’m missing an ingredient? What if I could get more dramatic results? This time I’ve been trying to pay attention to my actual experience. I like using the product, my skin feels smoother, and the routine fits my life. That is enough to keep going. I don’t need to keep turning a positive experience into another reason to shop.

I didn’t buy it because I hate getting older

I didn’t buy it because I hate getting older. I’m fine with looking my age. I just want to like the condition of my skin. Those things are not opposites. I bought the serum because I wanted a smoother-looking texture and a routine I would enjoy using. I’ve been pleased with both. I still have lines when I smile, and my face still looks like a face that has lived a life. It simply feels a little softer and more cared for, which was the point.

I’m less annoyed with my skin

I’m less annoyed with my skin. That’s probably the most honest review I can give. I used to finish washing my face and immediately start thinking about everything I wanted to fix. Lately I’m more likely to notice that it feels soft and looks reasonably even. I still have things I’d like to improve, but the whole subject feels less frustrating. I’ve enjoyed the serum, and I’m happy with the routine. It’s nice to take care of my skin without feeling like I’m arguing with it.

I want my routine to stay useful after I’m happy with my skin

I want my routine to stay useful after I’m happy with my skin. I used to think of skincare mainly as something I bought when I was frustrated. Once things looked better, I’d lose interest and start being inconsistent. I’m trying to approach it differently now. I like using this serum, and the routine feels manageable enough that I don’t need to be upset with my face to bother. That’s one reason I’m interested in continuing. I want taking care of my skin to be an ordinary habit, not an emergency response.

The second purchase felt more confident than the first

The second purchase felt more confident than the first. The first time, I was reading everything and wondering whether I’d regret it. The next time, I knew what I was paying for. I’d used the serum, liked the experience, and noticed that my skin felt smoother. It was a much easier decision. I don’t think every skincare purchase needs to stay exciting forever. There’s something satisfying about buying a product because you know you enjoy it rather than because you’re hoping it will finally be the answer.

I’m not staying subscribed to be polite

I’m not staying subscribed to be polite. I’ve canceled enough subscriptions to know I’m not sentimental about them. When something stops being useful, it goes. The reason I’d keep this one is that I enjoy the serum and want it in my routine. My skin feels softer, and I’m not finding myself wishing I’d bought something else. Convenience is a bonus, but it doesn’t get to be the whole reason. I need to still be happy opening the product, not just receiving the box.

I’d rather reorder than relearn

I’d rather reorder than relearn. There’s more effort involved in changing skincare than just buying the bottle. I have to read about it, figure out how I want to use it, and spend time deciding whether I like the experience. I’m happy not to repeat all that right now. PepNStep has been a good fit, and my skin feels smoother. Reordering feels straightforward because I already know why I’m buying it. That’s valuable to me when I have plenty of other things to make decisions about.

I’ve stopped shopping while I’m using it

I’ve stopped shopping while I’m using it. With previous products, I was practically looking for the next one before the first bottle was halfway gone. This time I’ve been content to keep using what I have. My skin feels smoother, and I like the routine enough that I’m not treating it as a temporary solution. That feels different. I can still appreciate a recommendation without turning it into an order. I’m happy to let a product work its way into my life without constantly auditioning its replacement.

I want replenishment, not a stockpile

I want replenishment, not a stockpile. I like the serum enough to consider regular deliveries, but I’m realistic about how quickly I use skincare. I want another bottle when I need another bottle. That’s what would make a subscription valuable to me. The product itself has been a positive experience: I enjoy using it, and my skin feels softer. I don’t need a cupboard full to prove that I like it. I’d rather keep the amount I have aligned with the routine I actually follow.

I’m loyal to the experience, not just the name

I’m loyal to the experience, not just the name. I don’t usually get attached to brands. I get attached to products that fit my life and make me feel good about using them. That’s where I am with this serum. I like the application, my skin feels smoother, and I’m comfortable keeping it in my routine. Those are the reasons I’d reorder. I don’t need to convince everyone else that it’s the only retinol worth buying. I just know I’m happy with my own purchase.

I checked the bottle because I didn’t want to be without it

I checked the bottle because I didn’t want to be without it. That was the moment I realized I’d moved past casually trying this serum. I was getting ready one evening and started wondering how much was left. Not because I was eager to finish it and buy something else, but because I wanted to make sure I had more. I like how smooth my skin feels, and the routine has become familiar in a good way. I’m not interested in creating a gap just so I can start shopping again.

I don’t want a new routine every time something runs out

I don’t want a new routine every time something runs out. That used to happen constantly. One empty bottle would send me back into research mode, and then I’d decide to replace half my routine. It made it difficult to feel settled with anything. Now I’m much happier replacing the serum I already enjoy. My skin feels good, and I don’t need running low to become an excuse for another overhaul. I would rather keep a few things consistent than turn every refill into a decision about who I’m going to be next month.

The refill is useful because I want more of this exact product

The refill is useful because I want more of this exact product. I’ve had subscriptions where I was mostly paying for the surprise of another delivery. This is different. The appeal is that I already know what I’m using and want to keep using it. I like the PepNStep serum, my skin feels smoother, and I don’t particularly want to shop around when it gets low. The delivery itself isn’t the exciting part. Having the product available when I need to replace it is what matters.

I wanted to spend deliberately for once

I wanted to spend deliberately for once. Usually skincare spending happens in little pieces, which makes it easy not to notice the total. This purchase made me stop and think about what I actually wanted. I wanted retinol, a routine I could follow, and products I wouldn’t immediately abandon. I’ve been pleased with the decision. The serum feels like something I chose for a reason, and I like the smoother texture I’m noticing. I’m more comfortable with that than lots of smaller purchases made because I was temporarily excited.

A cheaper alternative isn’t automatically a better purchase for me

A cheaper alternative isn’t automatically a better purchase for me. I’ve found cheaper versions of plenty of products that I was perfectly happy with. I’m not against that at all. But with this serum, I’m comfortable staying with what I know I enjoy. My skin feels good, the routine is manageable, and I don’t especially want to spend money testing alternatives just to see whether I can save a little. I’ll reconsider when I need to. Right now, I’m satisfied with the product I’m using.

This stayed when I cut back on unnecessary spending

This stayed when I cut back on unnecessary spending. I went through my regular purchases and got rid of several things I wasn’t using enough. I considered the skincare too. The serum stayed because I actually use it and like the way my skin feels. I’m not keeping it just because I already started. It still feels worth having. That’s a more serious endorsement from me than an excited first impression, because I had to decide whether I wanted it enough to keep making room for it.

I’m buying fewer things out of curiosity

I’m buying fewer things out of curiosity. I still like reading about new products, but I don’t feel as much urgency to try them. Having a serum I’m happy with has made the whole category less tempting. I know that sounds like an odd benefit to mention in a skincare review, but it matters to my budget. I’ve liked how my skin feels with PepNStep, and I don’t want to keep interrupting a routine I enjoy just because another product has an interesting description.

I don’t need a product to change my life to be worth buying

I don’t need a product to change my life to be worth buying. Some reviews make it sound like skincare has to produce this enormous transformation or it’s a failure. My standards are more practical. I want to like using it, notice something positive, and feel comfortable spending the money again. This serum has met that for me. My skin feels smoother, I like the routine, and I’m not annoyed with the product. It hasn’t changed my life. It has made one small part of it better, which is why I bought skincare in the first place.

The extras were nice, but I paid attention to the serum

The extras were nice, but I paid attention to the serum. I’ve been distracted by a generous-looking bundle before and ended up with a lot of products I didn’t especially want. So when I bought this, I kept coming back to one question: do I like the retinol? Yes. I like using it, and I’m happy with the smoother feel of my skin. That’s what makes me feel good about the purchase. Extra products are enjoyable, but they don’t make up for being disappointed with the thing I originally wanted.

I waited until I knew I’d miss it

I waited until I knew I’d miss it. I didn’t decide immediately that I was going to keep buying this. I wanted to use it long enough to know whether I was attached to the product or just excited about something new. Eventually I noticed I was checking how much was left. That answered the question. I like the softer texture of my skin, and I enjoy having a routine that feels settled. Reordering felt like maintaining something I liked, not gambling on something I hoped I would.
